Breeding a dog is
an amazing experience, every time one of my dogs is
pregnant i get so excited, i get them puppy vitamins,
baby oil there tummy's, me and my kids get to feel
the babies moved and coo them in the dams belly, i
tickle there belly and talk to them, and squeal when
the puppies move, it get mommy so excited!
Then comes the the puppy day!
when its getting close about day 58 i start taking
the dams temperature every morning and night, it well
be from 101 to mid 99's once it hits in the 98's i
know its time. it can be anywhere from around 24 hours
from the drop. they tend to have them at the worse
times, 12am - 4am. but they can have them any time.
everybody starts jumping, we get the
nursery ready - toys, baby blankets, bedding, cleaning
ex.
set up a whelping spot in my room.
(all our dogs come to my home during late pregnancy
and during the litters raising "my mom and dad
own two of our teddy's. )
in the whelping spot we need, towels,
a bowl of warm water, scissors, ice for mommy. and
a bed for me to lay by her, it can take forever, so
sometimes at night i need to sleep on the floor with
my baby having babies.
then comes the time the start pushing!
if the baby doesn't come out fully ( in yorkies because
of there structure) i lift the back side of the vagina
and carefully role it up till i see legs (only do
this if its butt first!) then i carefully lift the
legs out, and roll the Virgina again til the head
pops out. don't leave them in and wait for mom to
push! i lost one of Katie's pups on my first Yorkie
litter, i thought mommy would push her out!
once the baby is out while mommy is
cleaning her, rip open the sack my the mouth, and
take your towel and rub its nose gently till she breaths,
then rub her with the towel on her side softly to
get her moving then leave the rest to mom, if the
mom has the placenta still in her after 20 minutes
go ahead and cut the cord away from baby. and give
the baby to mom to finish up. if she doesn't push
out the placenta you can slowly tug on the cord till
it falls out, but never force anything in labor!
then a few hour after they have rested
put them in the nursery which must be warm. not hot
or cold.
with every puppy my heart jumps! with
every litter i find new love, my children learn from
every litter as well and have a great family bonding
experience. breeding is nothing short of one of gods
miracles. please don't abuse a heaven sent gift, and
embrace it for all its grace!

As far as combing and grooming go, I am not a professional,
as you can see on my site. just look at the teddy bear
dams and sire.
But what i do know, with
the teddy bear and shichon breeds they don't shed so you
need to comb them almost daily or they matt. also they
hate that wire brush! just get a few plastic black combs.
they like those.
make sure you bath them weekly use a good oatmeal bath,
don't use cheep stuff you don't want to dry out there
hair.
make sure you brush there
teeth, clip there nails, and pull the hair out of there
ears. all this stuff can be bought at petco or walmart.
the teddy bear breed and
the shichon both grow there hair back all the time, so
if you give them a bad cut don't stress, it'll grow back,
and it will get better. Let them smell the stuff your
using, and ok it, talk to them and pet them, take it slowly
and make it an enjoyable experience.
you ll notice after they
are done they'll prance around and showoff to the other
dogs.
The grooming PDF set on
our website is not mine, or i would offer it free. but
it dose have some great pointers.
you can always send them
to a stranger and they would look better. but i find it
more comfortable and rewarding on both sides to try yourself,
plus you save tons of money.
Please Note: Even though we adopt a few different breeds we only own a few house held pets, Two female Teddy Bears, a Male Teddy Bear, a Female Shichon, a Female Teacup Yorkie and a Female Parti Yorkie. They are also not all under one ownership, Me and my parents own them as you'll see in our About Us Page. Each Dog has his or her own Human owner, so they get all the attention they need. The Parti Yorkie would be studded with another AKC Parti Yorkie.
Also this is a passion bred hobby, my real job is www.enoxxdesign.com. I am a work at home mommy with a disabled son, who is the reason this breeding program was founded and now hosts several programs. Please visit our Donation and discount pages to see our mission which is funded by the adoption funds.
Designer
"Teddy Bear" Puppies!
Hybrid Shichons and Hybrid
Teddy
Bears.
We
are not a kennel! This is a
hobby and passion of mine, and my kids. Our Teddy Bear Puppies
are family raised, myparents own Rover, The Teddy Bear Sire (my Dad's) & Freckles, A Teddy Bear Dam (my Mom's)and i own Meni Mouse, a Teddy Bear Dam (My son James) , Masiy, A shichon or Zuchon Dam (My Dog) Katie, A Teacup Yorkie (My daughters) and Smooky the parti Yorkie (my other son Morris). The litters allways are raised in my home.
One Nursery, is a walk in closet converted right
by my bed room door, then the other the "Yorkie nursery" is
a large pink and plastic coated kennel i converted into a
nursery with baby crib materials and a puppy bed. The door
on the kennel is never closed but blocked partly by the baby
bumper from a crib to keep small puppies in. Once they are
3-4 weeks they are moved to a play pin i put in my room, as seen on the nursery page and below. then once they are ready to run they are free to roam my room with a baby gate.
with supervised
visits to the yard. The parents sleep in my bed, and have the run of the house
and yard.
Our Teddy Bear Puppies are excellent
with children, and are very well socialized. As you can imagine,
by the time we give up our Teddy Bear and hybrid shichons
puppies, we have invested a lot of time and love into them,
now comes the hard part letting go.
We
do not carry nor believe in the concepts of a puppy mill or
pet stores, we want to make sure our Teddy Bear Puppies are
cared and loved for the rest of there lives. We hope to receive
news of our puppies as they grow, photos, letters, exc. We
also are there for them for when questions or trouble arises,
don't hesitate to call for any reason, potty training, cutting
toe nails, your first litter, exc. If for any reason you cannot
keep your shichon years from now we well help you find a new
home, or if worse comes to worse, bring the shichon mix, registered teddybear or yorkie puppy back into
ours.
We
offer great support as long as your pup lives. So please use
it.
When you buy a puppy from us you become our extended family.

We also foster and care for homeless or lost pets from time
to time, and are invested in the care, service and affection
for them as well. They also help support our project such

Some
money is spent for Christmas or school clothes for my kids.
but we are not a kennel and
DO NOT BELIEVE IN CAGING ANY ANIMAL!
Puppies
are not profits, or toys, they are life long companions. Please
have this in mind when you buy a puppy. They can live up to
20 years with proper care. We support family raised breeding
and offer free help on online market and phone/email support
for that Purpose.
Every
few litters we offer a free puppy to a handicapped child or
child with a major social disorder. Unfortunately since we
also put a lot of the funds back into the care and preparation
of each puppy and also foster victimized animals and must
pay for there healing process and care for them to be adopted
out we can only do this every few litters. If you know a child
who you think maybe considered for one of these free puppies
please fill out the waiting list below. Not everyone is accepted
and you must be the caretaker or parent of the child. Please
visit our Charities page to apply or for more information.
Our
puppies have healthy family lines, and are guaranteed. We
give them lots and lots of love from the moment they are born
so you get um extra affectionate and really floppy!
We
also have a development process, we work on sense the day
they are born, derived from such elements as, child stimulation,
eye coordination, physical development, socializing and more,
please click on a puppy in the nursery and look under UPDATE:
to see the process laid out during there weekly photos and
videos!
My
sister's Three year old daughter
holding one of our larger pups (Shichon/Teddy Mix) at 12 weeks.
Our
breeding process includes Euro bloodlines which are.....
the Mediterranean Teddy Bear. The
Mediterranean *Teddy Bear (a Hybrid Zuchon "aka shichon"
The true teddy bear mix Bichon-poo &
Shih tzu). So in our case the Bichon is Mediterranean
Bichon which is the euro linage.
F1 - meaning first
generation True Teddy Bear (later shichons were nicknamed
teddy bears), his father being Mediterranean bichon-poo, a
smaller bichon with Euro features, such as, button eyes,
thinner snout, softer hair, and long silky tail hair.
Then
the Imperial
*Teddy Bear
(a Hybrid Zuchon "aka shichon" The true
teddy bear mix Bichon-poo & Shih tzu). So
in our case the Imperial
is the euro linage.
F2
(second generation True Teddy Bear)
with imperial
shih tzu on the fathers side to provide us with Euro features,
such as, the baby doll face and "Ewoak" (on
Star Wars) like features, with smaller size of course.
After over viewing countless Veterinary clinics, and reviewing them inside and out. From the morals they stand by and the care they invest into each beloved pet among other aspects. We have finally decided on a permanent Veterinarian.
We have chosen Lake Country because they have by far exceeded our expectations, We had heard of them through a neighbor when we were fostering a lost dog, she told me this vet would check for a chip free of charge and also takes in homeless animals and adopts them out.
When we had arrive we automatically felt at peace, its wooded landscaping and very earth bound construction (instead of the icy cold architect of most vets) made us feel comfortable at the get go. We were still jumping from vet to vet at the time, I wanted a moral bound but professional vet and it was a hard find.
So at once we decided this maybe the right place. As i waited for my first visit with Dr. Rolf Lippke over a Rescue Yorkie i was waiting to have a surgery with, i had noticed an older lady coming in with a bichon who had lots of serous problems. The staff greeted her with the utmost respect, and they had been carrying a tab for her due to the extreme expenses of her older dogs illnesses. I went to talk to the staff, and found out they had a good moral standing with the community and did carry from time to time during hardships, however this had put a great strain on the clinic so they had to stop doing so, but in all reality still do from time to time giving the situation.
During our next few visits with Dr. Keith French (Who is our chosen Vet) We had taken puppies in for health certificate's. He did a very through job, even though the certificate dose not require it he checked for heart murmurs, and skeletal defects, and much more in depth overview. So not only did i find a very moral and professional Vet But a very Honest and caring one as well.
The prices are also VERY reasonable, and with no hidden charges! They also well tell you if, you can administer the treatment and show you how, or if you can buy the needed supplies or medications from the store!!!!
This is a one of a kind vet, if your looking for a vet i would strongly suggest coming here, if your not local try to find one who has the same qualities.
Now days a lot of vets are like mechanics, and its hard to find the right guy for the job, but if you just take the time, do the research needed and then try a few visits till you find the right one, it will pay off in the long run.
God Bless
